Your Journey to Home Ownership Starts with Financial Education
The first step to becoming a home owner is understanding your finances, and we’re here to help.
Kaenga Hou can connect your whānau with free financial education and capability wānanga to help you build confidence, set goals, and get ready for home ownership.
We work with trusted providers to deliver financial capability wānanga that are designed by Māori, for Māori. These are free, practical, and can be joined from home or at a local venue.
What does a financial capability wānanga involve?
A financial capability wānanga offers you the opportunity to fill your kete with valuable financial knowledge.
Over the course of a few weeks you’ll cover a range of topics such as budgeting, debt management, savings strategies, and home ownership planning. You’ll be supported by experts, and will be able to access tools and knowledge to help you achieve your financial goals.
By the end of the programme, you’ll have a clearer vision for achieving your housing goals, whether that’s being ready to move into home ownership, growing your savings, or deciding to continue renting your home.
Completing a financial capability programme with us is a required step in your Kaenga Hou journey. It is the best place to start, and it’s free!
